Gujarat government bans Blue Whale Challenge game

Earlier on Tuesday, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said his government will ban the online game 'Blue Whale Challenge', which allegedly incites players to commit suicide.

The Blue Whale Challenge is reportedly a suicide game in which the players is given certain tasks to complete over a period of 50 days and the final task leads him or her to commit suicide.

The player is also asked to share photos after finishing each challenge. The game has claimed several lives worldwide.

A number of people have fallen prey to Blue Whale Challenge across the world and a few in the country.

Last week, a 20-year-old youth jumped into the river and committed suicide after blaming the Blue Whale game for his suicide in the video. However it was later revealed that he died because of the depression due to cancer and not because of the game.
