Gujarat: ATS Busts Drug Racket, 2 Arrested, 1 Detained; DSP Shankar Chaudhari Shares Details
Gujarat's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday busted a drug racket in Surat's Palsana taluka and seized the raw materials valued at approximately Rs 20 crores, said reports. It was learned that ATS caught two accused red-handed from the spot where drug manufacturing with the help of illegal chemicals was going on.
According to the reports, the ATS team took swift action after receiving a tip from an informer and conducted a raid on the factory, leading to the seizure of drugs and sealing of the illegal unit.

Along with 2 arrests, 1 person has been detained by the investigating agency and they are being grilled.
An official told the media that the raid was part of their ongoing combat against the production and distribution of drugs in the state and the investigating team is trying to connect the dots to catch other people linked to the manufacturing and trade of illegal drugs.
Sharing details of the case, ATS Gujarat Deputy SP, Shankar Chaudhari said, "Gujarat ATS officials received information that an MD drug manufacturing factory has been set up and manufacturing is underway there. On the basis of that input, a team of 2 Inspectors was formed. The teams had 3 Sub Inspectors each. The location in Surat Rural was raided and MD was seized - 4 kg in hard form and 31 kg in liquid form. 2 accused have been arrested and 1 accused has been detained. Accused Sunil Narayan is a resident of Vapi, accused Vijay is a resident of Surat, and accused Harish is a resident of Junagarh. One accused, Salim Sayyad from Mumbai was supplied with 4 kg of this. Another team has been sent to investigate this. ATS has seized MD worth a total of Rs 51 Crores..."
