Gujarat Assembly Election 2017: Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani meets Rahul Gandhi

Convener of the Rashtriya Dalit Adhikar Manch Jignesh Mevani on Friday joined Rahul Gandhi's Navsarjan Yatra from Navsari after their meeting.

Addressing media, Mevani said,''Met Rahul Ji. He told us 90% of our demands aren't demands but our constitutional rights which will be included in the manifesto.''

Mevani had earlier said he would meet Rahul Gandhi only when he was called to discuss the opposition party's stand on various demands of the Dalit community.

The Dalit rights campaigner, who has dubbed the BJP "anti-Dalit", had also said he had no plans to join any political party.
