Guess what Modi gave the young Prince of Bhutan

Earlier in the day, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and President Ram Nath Kovind.

All eyes were on Prince Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck when the Royal family of Bhutan visited India. The Royal couple called on Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and he had a gift for the young prince.

The Prime Minister who is known for taking special interest in the gifts given to the guests presented an official football of the FIFA U-17 World Cup and a chess set to the Prince of Bhutan.

Delighted with chess set

The prince was delighted particularly with the chess set, it appeared. The Royal Family of Bhutan is on a four-day trip to India.

Royal couple call on Sushma

Earlier in the day, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and President Ram Nath Kovind.
Though there are reports that the visit was a more about the crucial discussion over the Doklam stand-ff, but the young Prince stole the thunder.

"Special gesture for a valued friend. EAM @SushmaSwaraj receives Their Majesties, The King, The Queen and The Gyalsey (Prince) of Bhutan," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

India and Bhutan enjoy unique ties of friendship, which are characterised by deep understanding and mutual trust," the statement said.

It said the visit would provide an opportunity to review the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation, including plans for celebrating in 2018 the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic ties, and to advance bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation.
