Groom fails to count; girl calls off wedding in UP
Ballia (UP), May 3: His inability to count has cost a would-be-groom his marriage as the girl refused to tie the knot with him in Bansdeeh area here.
The incident took place on Friday when one Manoj was to get married in Maritar village here.

After initial rituals, the bride, who is a graduate, suspected the groom to be illiterate, the girl's family members said.
The girl then asked him to count currency notes in which he failed after which she refused to marry him.
As a dispute arose between the two parties, a panchayat was called in the village after which the kin of the groom left for Bihar, Bansdeeh area S O, Vashisth Narayan said.
