Green Corridor Established by Uttar Pradesh Police Facilitates Timely Kidney Transplant in Noida Extension
In a remarkable feat, the Uttar Pradesh Police facilitated the swift transport of a kidney from Faridabad to Noida Extension for a transplant. The journey, spanning over 40 km, was completed in just 24 minutes, officials reported on Thursday. The kidney was successfully transplanted at Yatharth Hospital, thanks to a green corridor established by the traffic police on Wednesday.

The green corridor was crucial due to the critical condition of a 55-year-old patient on dialysis. Yatharth Hospital requested this special route to expedite the organ's delivery. A traffic police official stated that the corridor extended from Noida's limits to the hospital in Noida Extension, covering more than 46 km in under 30 minutes.
Green Corridor Ensures Swift Transport
Noida Police confirmed that the green corridor ensured the ambulance reached its destination safely within 24 minutes. The kidney, donated by a middle-aged man at Amrita Hospital in Sector 88, Faridabad, was successfully transplanted to the patient at Yatharth Hospital.
"A successful emergency organ transport," stated Yatharth Hospital on X. "We received a donor kidney from Amrita Hospital in Faridabad at our Noida Extension facility in record time. Thanks to Noida Traffic Police for facilitating the swift Green Corridor."
Previous Successful Organ Transport
In October 2021, Noida Traffic Police had similarly created a green corridor for transporting a harvested organ over approximately 14 km in 14 minutes. This operation involved moving an organ from Delhi's Sir Gangaram Hospital to Jaypee Hospital in Sector 128 Noida, as noted by then Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Ganesh Prasad Saha.
The recent operation highlights the efficiency and coordination between hospitals and police in emergency situations. Such efforts are vital for saving lives and ensuring timely medical interventions.
