Greater Noida Lift Free Fall: 4 Workers Killed At Under-Construction Society
Four workers died Friday after a service lift had a free fall at an under-construction group housing society in Greater Noida West, also known as Noida Extension, officials said.
Five other workers suffered injuries and are hospitalised in critical condition, Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Manish Verma said.

The incident took place at the under construction site of Amrapali Dream Valley society around 8.30 am, Additional DCP (Central Noida) Rajeev Dixit told PTI.
''The service lift, which is used at construction sites, had a fall from the 14th floor height,'' Dixit said.
Speaking to news agency ANI, DM Manish Verma said,"...Four people have died...Five people are in critical condition and undergoing treatment in a city hospital...Our team is present in the city hospital...Our officers are also present on the site and no one is stranded there...Proper treatment is being given...An investigation is going on..."
Construction workers were utilizing the lift to access the 14th floor of a tower when, as per officials, the suspension wire of the lift gave way, causing it to plummet to the ground.
"Nine construction workers were aboard the service lift when it descended from the 14th floor. It is suspected that the suspension wire of the lift snapped," explained Central Noida Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP-2) RK Pandey.
The project is presently under construction and is being developed by the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC).
