Greater Noida Kickstarts Rs 60 Crore Development Projects After Polls
Following the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has initiated a significant boost in repair and maintenance operations across various sectors and villages. This move comes right after the Election Commission announced the end of the model code of conduct, which had been in effect since March 16 due to the elections. Greater Noida, located in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, had its polls on April 26.

GNIDA CEO NG Ravi Kumar has emphasized the need for swift action in enhancing the infrastructure within Greater Noida's sectors and villages. The authority has released tenders for 36 projects, with an estimated budget of around Rs 60 crore. These projects encompass a wide range of essential services including road, sewer, water, and lighting works.
The water and sewer department is set to undertake significant projects, including the laying of a line from MPS Sector 1 to a 20 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Ecotech III, costing Rs 6.46 crore. Additionally, Rs 4.91 crore will be allocated for the operation and maintenance of a 15 MLD STP in Ecotech II. Sewer system maintenance in Zones I and III is also on the agenda, with an approximate budget of Rs 20 crore.
Zone I's development will cover various sectors and villages including Sectors 1 through 4, Techzone IV and VII, Ecotech 12, 14, 15, and several villages like Tigri and Shahberi. Zone III's focus will include areas such as Ecotech II, KP I-IV, Alpha I-II, Beta I-II, Gamma I-II, Delta I-III, Zeta I-II, Eta I-II, and numerous villages.
Infrastructure Enhancements
Apart from sewer and water projects, GNIDA plans to construct roads, drains, rainwater harvesting systems, and guard rooms in Sector Pi Is Ganga Jal campus. There will also be boundary wall construction around the Overhead Tank (OHT) in Ecotech I Extension and similar infrastructure projects across various sectors including KP-5, 1, 3, 4, 12A, Ecotech 15, and Mu II.
The electrical engineering department is set to electrify community buildings in Sectors Gamma I-II, Delta I-II, and Beta I-II. Additionally, lighting installations are planned for community centers, schools, playgrounds, cremation grounds, and cemeteries across several locations including the Surajpur court complex where LED high mast lighting will be installed.
Ensuring Timely Completion
Annapurna Garg, Additional CEO of GNIDA, assured that the tender process for these projects will be expedited to ensure that work begins promptly. The authority is committed to completing all projects on time while maintaining high quality standards.
The GNIDA plays a crucial role in the planned development of Greater Noida. As a statutory body under the Uttar Pradesh state government, it is tasked with ensuring that Greater Noida's infrastructure meets the needs of its residents efficiently. With these new initiatives underway, GNIDA aims to significantly improve living conditions in Greater Noida's sectors and villages.
