New Delhi, Feb 17: Delhi government will rope in experts from diverse fields to help Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to implement various schemes and poll promises made by AAP during the elections.

An expert committee is going to be set up in the next few days which will work under the Chief Minister's Office and play a key role in formulation of various important policies of the government.

Govt to set up expert panel to help Kejriwal implement schemes.
In its election manifesto, Aam Aadmi Party had promised to slash power bills of the consumers by half and provide free water upto 20,000 litres to every household per month.

The party also promised to install 1.5 lakh CCTVs across the national capital and deploy marshals in every bus to ensure security of passengers, especially women and build 47 fast track courts in the city.

"The committee of experts will be a part of Chief Minister's Office and will help CM Arvind Kejriwal implement AAP's pre-poll promises," said a senior government official.

The official said that the government has started looking for such officers, adding that it is yet to take a decision on the number of committee members.

"The expert committee will also supervise the work of different departments and apprise the CM about regular developments," the official added.

On the first working day of the government, Kejriwal yesterday issued directions to various agencies not to carry out any demolition across the city until it reviews the existing policies governing demolitions.

Besides, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government also directed finance and power departments to immediately send their proposals on slashing power bills by 50 per cent.
