Govt gives no subsidy for export of cow meat
New Delhi, Jul 27: Government today said no subsidy is being provided for export of cow meat. "No," Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha to a question whether any subsidy is being provided for export of cow meat.
"As per the existing foreign trade policy, export of beef (meat of cows, oxen and calf) is prohibited and not permitted to export," she said. Replying to a separate query, she said the government has so far recognised 180 applicants who had submitted required documents as per the definition of a start-up.

A start-up is an entity, incorporated or registered in India not prior to five years, with annual turnover not exceeding Rs 25 crore in any preceding financial year, working towards innovation, development, deployment or commercialisation of new products, processes or services driven by technology or intellectual property.
