The ceremonies for Go Pujan, or cow worship, were conducted with deep respect at all Gau Ashray Sthals. This highlighted the importance of these traditions. The UP government stated that a total of 7,319 Gau Ashray Sthals hosted Govardhan Puja and Go Pujan. These included 6,697 temporary Gau Ashray Sthals, 333 large Gau Sanrakshan Sthals, and 289 Kanha Ashray Sthals.

Participation of Key Officials

Dharmpal Singh, the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister, attended the Govardhan Puja at the Gau Sanrakshan Kendra in Mau Chandrapur. This location is situated in the Ramnagar Development Block of Bareilly district. Additionally, the Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry and other officials were present at the events in Niblet, Barabanki, and Papnamau, Lucknow.

Shyam Bihari Gupta, Chairman of the Go-Seva Commission, took part in the celebrations at a temporary cow shelter in Sarendi. The involvement of these officials underscores the significance of these events in promoting traditional practices.

Government Initiatives

Following instructions from Yogi Adityanath's government, ministers and public representatives celebrated Govardhan Puja at cow shelters across different districts. During these events, cows were given jaggery, green fodder, and fruits. The government also emphasised promoting lamps and idols made from cow dung post-Diwali to ensure their availability in markets.

The focus on distributing traditional items highlights efforts to integrate cultural practices with economic activities. This initiative aims to support local artisans by encouraging the sale of cow dung products.

The celebration of Govardhan Puja and Go Pujan across Uttar Pradesh reflects a commitment to preserving cultural heritage. By involving key officials and promoting traditional products, the state aims to blend tradition with modern economic opportunities.
