Gorakhpur: What transpired inside the hospital

With the passing away of 11-year-old suffering from Encephalitis the death toll at Gorakhpur's BRD Medical College reached 63. Over 60 children dies in the state-run hospital over five days.

The deaths are being blamed on infections and possible disruption of oxygen supply in the the hospital, However, district administration have rejected oxygen shortage as a reason.

    Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed Health Minister ad Minister of Technical & Medical Education for proper investigation and strict action.

    Do not politicise issue, says UP Health Minister

    Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh on Saturday said the Opposition must not politicise the deaths that have been reported at the state-run Baba Raghav Das Medical College hospital in Gorakhpur, the parliamentary constituency represented by chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

    Adding that proper investigation must take place since this was a serious issue, Singh told ANI, "Opposition parties should not politicise deaths. Proper investigation to be done and quick action to be taken. It's serious issue."
