The tourists received hot meals and medical aid, and arrangements were made for their safe transportation. The Trishakti Corps, responsible for guarding the borders in Sikkim, maintains readiness to support the civil administration and the local populace in such situations.

Heavy Snowfall Predictions in India
In its latest weather forecast, heavy snowfall and rain are predicted to continue affecting parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh today, as stated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Delhi is expected to experience a cloudy sky and light rain today, with a temperature decrease of at least two notches, according to the IMD.
The maximum temperature in the national capital is likely to hover around 26 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to settle at 12 degrees, as per the weather body. On Tuesday morning, light rain was received in Delhi and its adjoining National Capital Region (NCR), resulting in a drop in temperature. The maximum and minimum temperatures for the day were recorded at 28.1 and 14.7 degrees, respectively, reported India Today.
Due to a Western Disturbance, moderate snowfall and rain accompanied by thunderstorms will affect the Western Himalayan region from Tuesday to Friday. Hail storms are expected in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan. The IMD has also forecasted light to moderate rainfall in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh until Thursday.
In the northeast, Arunachal Pradesh is expected to witness snow on Tuesday, while states like Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Tripura might experience light rain until Thursday. Hot and humid weather is predicted for Kerala and Andhra Pradesh by the IMD. On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur city recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius.
Starting from Saturday, a fresh Western Disturbance is anticipated to affect the Western Himalayan region, bringing an intense spell of snowfall until February 26.
