Train Derailment in Sonbhadra and Track Issue in Jaunpur Disrupt Services

Early on Monday, a goods train engine derailed in Sonbhadra after debris from a nearby hill fell onto the tracks due to heavy rains, railway officials reported. The incident disrupted rail traffic for several hours. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and train services resumed once the debris was cleared.

Around 3 am, the goods train travelling from Chunar to Chopan in Sonbhadra district encountered debris near Brahmababa bridge, causing its engine to derail, according to a railway official. Upon receiving information from the train's driver and guard, railway staff promptly arrived at the scene to commence repair work.

Rail Traffic Disruptions

The derailment led to a goods train being halted at Chunar and the Jammutavi Express being diverted from Garhwa. Sonbhadra station master Ajay Babu confirmed that officials quickly reached the site, removed the debris, and restored traffic on the track.

In another incident in Jaunpur district, train operations faced brief disruptions on Monday morning when a rail track was found broken. The breakage occurred near Rajnipur railway crossing, east of Harpalganj railway station in the Sultanpur rail division.

Quick Response to Track Breakage

The incident was discovered around 7 am when the Suheldev Express from Sultanpur passed over the damaged track, producing a loud noise, as stated by local station master Krishna Nand Pandey. The breakage was immediately reported to the control room.

As a result of the broken track, the Sadbhavna Express coming from Delhi was stopped at Harpalganj station. Repair work took approximately two hours before train services could resume, Pandey added.

Despite these incidents causing temporary disruptions, prompt actions by railway officials ensured that services were restored efficiently and safely.
