Gold bars worth Rs 85 lakh seized from aircraft toilet

Chennai, Feb 26: Gold bars weighing 2.5 kg, worth Rs 85 lakh were seized by customs officials from the toilet of a Jet Airways flight which landed here from Singapore tonight.

Customs officials said the gold was found by staff who were cleaning the aircraft. A passenger is suspected to have put the bars there and customs officials are on a lookout for him, they said. The aircraft had landed here at around 7.30 PM.
