Going Vocal For Local Is What Helped The Congress Conquer Karnataka
For the Congress the victory was massive, impressive and sweet in Karnataka.
The Congress stuck to local issues, displayed a lot of unity while also reaching out to the households. While everything was going well for the Congress, one wondered that if it had made a blunder in making personal remarks against the Prime Minister and also saying that it would ban the Bajrang Dal.

The Congress campaign however remained strong and its continuous targeting of the BJP government on corruption charges paid dividends. Furthermore the five promises that the Congress made during the two month campaign was a huge hit among the voters.
The biggest draw for the Congress was its hyper focus on local issues. Before the campaign began, the party decided that it would only stick to local issues and the corruption of the BJP government. It refused to rake up national issues such as the Adani row. It also only stuck to caste-related issues which is dominant in the state.
The. Congress also stuck to price rice and on polling day, Congress leader, D K Shivakumar praying to a gas cylinder owing to its high price. The party also ran its campaign around Kannada pride. It also targeted the BJP by stating that the party had insured the Lingayats by making B S Yediyurappa step down as chief minister.
