Goa Nightclub Fire: Owner Issues Statement as Lookout Notice Filed in Deadly Tragedy

A day after the catastrophic blaze at Birch by Romeo Lane in Arpora that killed 25 people and left six injured, club owner Saurabh Luthra has publicly responded.

His statement came roughly 34 hours after the fire, marking the first time he addressed the incident that has shaken Goa's tourism hub.

Owner Breaks Silence with Condolence Message

Luthra issued an emotional note on Instagram, conveying collective grief on behalf of the club. "The management expresses profound grief and is deeply shaken by the tragic loss of lives resulting from the unfortunate incident at Birch. In this hour of irreparable sorrow and overwhelming distress, the management stands in unwavering solidarity with the families of the deceased as well as those injured, and conveys its heartfelt condolences with utmost sincerity."

He further added, "The management further affirms that it shall extend every possible form of assistance, support and cooperation to the bereaved and affected individuals, as they navigate through this period of immense anguish and adversity."

What Happened Inside the Club

According to the venue's Instagram page, a 'Bollywood Banger Night' was underway when the fire erupted. Viral clips show a dancer performing to the classic 'Mehbooba Mehbooba' from Sholay. Flames appear on the ceiling within moments, and earlier visuals show fireworks going off indoors during the performance.

Authorities confirmed that 20 staff members and five tourists were among the casualties, making it one of Goa's most devastating nightclub incidents in recent years.

Police Action and Arrests

Police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, along with charges linked to negligence and endangering public safety. Four staff members have already been arrested as part of the widening investigation.

Hunt for Promoters Intensifies

With scrutiny mounting, police have launched a search for promoters Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra. A lookout notice has been issued as authorities work to determine responsibility for the tragic events that unfolded inside the nightclub.
