'Goa Congress also needs a surgery to bounce back'
Panaji, May 20: A day after senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said that the party needs a "major surgery", a party leader from Goa today backed his view.
In wake of Assembly poll defeats in Assam and Kerala and disappointing results in other states, Singh had yesterday made a pitch for a "major surgery" in the organisation.

"Today's results are disappointing but not unexpected. We have done enough Introspection shouldn't we go for a Major Surgery?" Singh had tweeted. Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary Durgadas Kamat said, "Goa also requires a surgery and I am sure Digvijay sir as the incharge of Goa is working towards it...We need a major surgery so that we can bounce back to power by defeating BJP."
Singh was in Goa this week to chair various meetings ahead of Goa State Legislative Assembly election scheduled in 2017. "We should understand people's sentiments...I firmly stand with Digvijaya Singh's view, because we think of the betterment of the party," Kamat added.
