Struggling to navigate through insolvency proceedings, Go First Airlines is making efforts to retain its flying crew amidst an uncertain future.
Pilots employed by Go First who are considering switching to another airline are being enticed with additional monthly payments of up to Rs 1 lakh to remain with the grounded carrier.
As first reported by Bloomberg, Go First is offering a retention allowance of Rs 1 lakh per month to captains and Rs 50,000 per month to first officers who choose to stay. An email seen by Bloomberg revealed that the airline has communicated this offer to its pilots.

The additional monetary incentives, referred to as retention allowance, are being extended to pilots who have already tendered their resignations but are willing to withdraw them by June 15 and continue serving with Go First. The airline is also reportedly considering a longevity bonus for staff members who have been with the company for an extended period.
In the email to its crew, Go First expressed optimism about its progress plans, assuring them that it won't be long before the airline takes to the skies again. On average, a captain at Go First receives a monthly salary of approximately Rs 5.3 lakh, as per the report. Currently, all Go First flights remain canceled until May 30.
