Give me time; have personal work: Sasi to tell SC before surrendering

She would tell the Bench that she has to make some personal arrangements before she can surrender before the court.

Convicted AIADMK interim general secretary Sasikala Natarajan will move the Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking more time to surrender before the trial court in Bengaluru. Her advocate will make a mention before Justices P C Ghose and Amitava Roy about the same citing personal grounds.

Her surrender would depend on what the bench has to say. She would tell the bench that she has to make some personal arrangements before she can surrender before the court. The bench while convicting her had directed her to surrender to serve out her four-year sentence.

She would cite that if more time is not granted to her to surrender then it would cause her irreparable loss. She has however not specified what the personal reasons are. A similar application is being filed by her co-convicts Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran.

The matter is likely to mentioned before the bench at 10.30 am. The same Bench had convicted her on Tuesday holding her guilty in the disproportionate assets case. She along with Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran were ordered to go to jail.
