Bengaluru shocker: Girl raped inside moving bus

Bengaluru, Nov 6: Two persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of an 18-year-old girl at Hoskote near Bengaluru. The incident is said to have occurred last night in a private bus. The cleaner and the driver of the bus have been arrested.

According to the complaint the incident occurred at Lakondanahalli in the rural Bengaluru police station limits. It is alleged that the driver had ordered the cleaner to drive the bus. The driver is then alleged to have raped the 18 year old woman who is a nurse by profession.

After the incident, the lady was dropped off. However after she lodged the complaint, she was rushed to hospital and continues where she continues to receive medical attention.

The police immediately acted on the issue and arrested the driver Ravi a resident of Shivamogga and Manjunath from Chinthamani.

The bus is in the custody of the police who have also registered a case under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. The case is being investigated by the Suilebel police falling under Bengaluru rural police limits.

The police are currently investigating the matter and are likely to record the statement of the victim soon.

Currently, she is in hospital and once the doctors give the clearance, the statement would be recorded, the police also added.
