West Bengal: Girl raped, murdered on Lakshmi Puja night
Raiganj (WB), October 27: An 11-year old girl was allegedly raped and murdered at Dhankoil in West Bengal's North Dinajpur district, police said today.
The girl and her 13-year-old brother were reportedly invited to the house of the 21-year-old accused for Lakshmi Puja last night, police said quoting complaints filed by the girl's family.
The brother returned home after some time but the girl did not. Her parents went searching for the girl and found her lying dead near a Kali temple at Dhankoil village, the complaint stated.
Following complaints lodged by the family, the police today arrested the accused's mother. She was produced before the CJM court here and remanded to police custody for three days.
