Tragedy Strikes Ghaziabad: House Collapse Claims Lives of Three Children, Four Others Injured
In a tragic incident on Saturday morning, three children died and four others were injured after a house collapsed due to an explosion in the Loni area of Ghaziabad district. The house was allegedly used for running an illegal firecracker unit.
In a tragic incident in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on September 23rd, three children lost their lives and four others were injured when a two-storey house collapsed due to an explosion. The unfortunate event occurred around 11:30 am in the Loni area of the district, specifically near Roopnagar colony.

The property was owned by a man named Shakeel who had rented it out to Sharik. According to DCP Rural Vivek Chand Yadav, Sharik allegedly operated an illegal firecracker unit from the premises. The explosion that led to the collapse of the building is believed to have originated from this illicit operation.
Upon hearing a loud noise indicative of an explosion, neighbours rushed towards the house with intentions of rescuing any trapped individuals. They also promptly informed local law enforcement about the incident. DCP Yadav stated that upon receiving information about the mishap, a team from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was dispatched for rescue operations.
NDRF's Rescue Operation
After nearly four hours of relentless efforts amidst debris and rubble, NDRF personnel managed to extricate seven people buried under wreckage caused by the explosion. A forensics team and dog squad were also brought in for further investigation at what now remained of once habitable structure.
Casualties and Injuries
The victims involved in this calamity included Mewis aged 45 along with her sons Imran (16) and Fardeen (18), Shaista aged 40 with her daughters Aleena (12) and Alisha (10), as well as Norrie who is 18 years old. Among these victims, young Imran tragically died on site due to his injuries sustained during collapse.
The other six survivors were immediately taken for medical attention to north-east Delhi's GTB Hospital. However, the condition of sisters Aleena and Alisha deteriorated rapidly, eventually leading to their unfortunate demise at the hospital. The remaining four injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the same facility.
Conclusion
This tragic incident has not only resulted in loss of young lives but also raised serious questions about unchecked illegal activities within residential areas. It underscores the need for stricter regulations and enforcement against such hazardous operations that endanger human lives and property. As a society, it is crucial to ensure that safety norms are adhered to prevent such catastrophic incidents in future.
The authorities have initiated an investigation into this incident and it is hoped that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible for running an unlawful operation which led to this disaster. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this tragedy as they navigate through these difficult times.
