Ghaziabad Halal Horror: Main Accused Asad Killed in Police Encounter, Victim's Mother Demands Bulldozer Action

The main suspect in the killing of 17-year-old Surya Chauhan, identified as Asad, was shot dead during a Ghaziabad Police encounter in Khora late on Saturday night. The incident has escalated public attention on the case, which had already drawn anger across the local area.

Police stated that Asad was accused of murdering Surya Chauhan on Bakrid. The killing of the teenager had led to protests and strong reactions from residents. Officials said the investigation had focused on tracking Asad’s movements, as police believed Asad was preparing to leave Ghaziabad.

Ghaziabad Police encounter and tip-off before Khora interception

According to Ghaziabad Police, investigators received specific information that Asad planned to come to Khora to collect money from a friend before attempting to flee the city. Following the tip-off, a police team was deployed along the suspected route and officers maintained close surveillance in the surrounding locality.

Officials said Asad reached the identified spot on a motorcycle, accompanied by another person. When the police team tried to stop the two, Asad allegedly opened fire on the personnel. Police replied with gunfire during the confrontation, and Asad was hit by bullets in the exchange that followed.

Ghaziabad Police encounter details, injuries and search for second suspect

Police personnel rushed Asad to a hospital for medical treatment, while one constable sustained injuries during the firing. Authorities later said the constable’s condition remained stable. The second individual travelling with Asad escaped from the area, and a search operation is underway to locate and arrest that person.

Officers recovered the motorcycle used in the approach to Khora and also seized a country-made pistol that police said was used in the attack. Officials later confirmed that Asad died from the gunshot wounds while receiving treatment at the hospital. The case details were published by Zafar Zaidi on May 31, 2026.

Surya's Mother Reacts to Asad's Death

Surya's mother, Saroj, has spoken out after the death of Asad, the prime accused in her son's murder case, who was killed in a police encounter in Ghaziabad. Expressing her views on the development, she said the remaining accused should face a similar fate. So far, police have arrested three suspects, while two other youths were taken into custody and questioned as part of the investigation.

Calls for Action Against Accused's Properties

Saroj has also urged authorities to take strict action against the accused by demolishing their houses. According to the family, Surya was allegedly invited to a house on Eid on the pretext of witnessing a sacrificial ritual, where he was attacked with a knife. He later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The incident has left the family shattered and grieving.

The killing of Surya has sparked strong reactions from several Hindu organizations. After his body was brought home on Saturday, members of various groups visited the family and expressed solidarity with them. They also called for swift and stringent action against those responsible for the murder.
