Ghaziabad And Haridwar Schools Closed; Noida Shuts Down All Educational Institutes - Check Dates Inside

All educational institutions, including schools and colleges, in Gautam Buddha Nagar will be closed on August 2 on the occasion of Shivratri. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has announced that the holiday previously scheduled for August 3 has been moved to August 2. As a result, both government and private schools and colleges will not be operational on this day.

Additionally, both private and government schools are closed in Haridwar and Ghaziabad from July 29 to August 2 due to the Kanwar Yatra. The District Magistrate has stated that a large influx of devotees is expected for the yatra, necessitating these closures.

Delhi Police Traffic Advisory

In anticipation of significant traffic congestion, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for commuters. Those travelling from Noida are advised to use the Noida Expressway via DND-Ashram Chowk-Mathura Road. For commuters heading to Noida from Sarita Vihar Flyover and Okhla, it is recommended to take Apollo Red Light, Mathura Road-Ashram Chowk-DND route.

Traffic disruptions are expected to persist until August 5. The closure of two lanes exiting Delhi at the Kalindi Kunj border is significantly impacting traffic flow. Key affected areas include the Kalindi Kunj border and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

About Kanwar Yatra

The sacred Kanwar Yatra began on July 22, with devotees arriving in Haridwar to collect water from the holy Ganga river. Consequently, schools and Anganwadi in Haridwar have also been closed from July 27 to August 2, to accommodate the rush of Shiv devotees. It is important to note that colleges in both Haridwar and Ghaziabad will remain open on all weekdays.
