Get Married, We Will be Your Baraati: Lalu Prasads Witty Advice to Rahul Gandhi at Opposition Meet

Praising Rahul Gandhi's recent efforts, including his Bharat Jodo Yatra and his eloquent speech in the Lok Sabha regarding the Adani group controversy, Lalu Prasad expressed his appreciation. With a mischievous grin, he added, "Rahul ji has done a great job and has also shown bravery. Now, you should think about marriage. It's not too late, get married now! We are ready to be your baraatis."

The lighthearted comment from Lalu Prasad drew laughter from other opposition leaders present at the press conference.

Lalu Prasad also made a symbolic statement, highlighting that the opposition now had the support of Hanuman, a deity who was historically associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). "In the past, the BJP used to fight in the name of Hanuman. But now, Hanuman ji is with us," he declared.

Expressing his optimism about the united front, Lalu Prasad emphasized the importance of the opposition's unity in Shimla during their future discussions. He highlighted that their unity would dispel the notion that the opposition remains divided and enable them to present a strong challenge to the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The joint press conference followed a four-hour-long meeting, where leaders of 17 opposition parties expressed their views and solidified their commitment to fighting the BJP unitedly. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the host of the meeting, affirmed their dedication to the nation's interest and criticised the BJP for allegedly attempting to rewrite the country's history.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced that the next gathering of opposition leaders would take place in Shimla next month, further solidifying their collaborative efforts.
