Gauri Lankesh murder: Cops reach out to IB for naxal link
However the IB has nothing to suggest a naxal link as of now.
The Karnataka police has reached out to the Telangana Intelligence Bureau in a bid to crack the Gauri Lankesh murder case. With the police investigating a possible naxal link to the murder, it has decided to seek inputs from the Telangana IB in this regard.

However the IB has nothing to suggest a naxal link as of now. There has been no chatter picked up or statements issued following the death of the journalist-activist.
IB officials say that going by the modus operandi of naxalites, they do not have the capability of striking in urban areas. Moreover they do not hire contract killers. They undertake the job themselves, the officer also informed.
The IB also informed the Bengaluru police that no naxal module is active in Bengaluru. There is no information to suggest that the naxals could have carried out the killing, the IB also informed the police.
