There were three bullets that pierced the body of journalist Gauri Lankesh who was killed in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The postmortem report conducted at the Victoria Hospital confirmed that three bullets had pierced through her body.
The bullets that pierced her body made three entry and exit wounds. The bullets penetrated the abdomen region and one through the chest, the report suggested.

Gauri's body was brought to the hospital on Tuesday night. Dr S Venkataraghava of the Forensic Science department began the postmortem around 9.30 am on Wednesday. The hospital has submitted a preliminary report and it would take another day before the detailed report is submitted.
Meanwhile a Special Investigation Team has been constituted to probe the murder. The police had found four empty cartridges at the scene of the crime. The fourth bullet had hit the wall suggesting that killers missed one shot. Further the police have been analysing Gauri's mobile phone data apart from analysing the CCTV footage collected from in an around her house where she was shot dead.
