GATE 2025 Registration Begins August 24: Discover Exam Dates, Fees, And Application Details Here

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has unveiled the official brochure for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. This prestigious institute has been ranked No. 1 in the NIRF 2024 for Architecture & Planning, maintaining the top spot since 2021.

Prospective candidates can now begin the registration process, which will be conducted through the GATE 2025 website: https://gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

The registration period for GATE 2025 will commence on August 24 and will close on September 26. Candidates wishing to register for two test papers need to complete only one application form. Applications must be submitted via the official GATE 2025 website. The final date for submission without late fees is September 26, while the deadline with late fees is October 7.

GATE 2025: Exam Dates

GATE 2025 will be conducted on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 next year. The test will be held in two sessions each day: the morning session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm

GATE 2025: Admit Card

The GATE 2025 admit card will be made available to candidates next year on January 2. The results are scheduled to be announced on March 19 of the same year.

GATE 2025: Steps To Register

To apply for GATE 2025, follow these steps:

1. Visit the official GATE 2025 website: https://gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
2. Click on the registration link and complete the signup process using a valid email ID, mobile number, and password. After successful registration, you will receive an enrolment ID.
3. Log in to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) using your enrolment ID and password.
4. Fill in your personal details, and educational qualifications, and select the GATE papers you wish to appear for. Ensure all information is accurate.
5. Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and any other required documents as specified in the brochure.
6. Pay the application fee through the online payment gateway on the website. Fees vary based on the category and number of papers selected.
7. Review all entered details carefully. Once confirmed, submit the application form. After submission, download and print the confirmation page for your records.

  • General Category: Rs 1800
  • Female, SC, ST, and PwD Candidates: Rs 900

GATE 2025: Exam Pattern

GATE 2025 will cover 30 subjects, known as test papers, with all exams conducted as Computer-Based Tests (CBT). The exam duration will be three hours and will be held in English. Each paper will have two sections: General Aptitude (GA) and the candidate's selected subject.

i. Test of Abilities: Recall, Comprehension, Application, Analysis and Synthesis
ii. Number of Questions: 65 (10 General Aptitude + 55 Subject)

GATE 2025: Marks Distribution

For All Papers Except AR, CY, DA, EY, GG, MA, PH, ST, XH, and XL:

i. General Aptitude: 15 marks
ii. Engineering Mathematics: 13 marks
iii. Subject Questions: 72 marks
Total: 100 marks

For Papers AR, CY, DA, EY, GG, MA, PH, ST, XH, and XL:

i. General Aptitude: 15 marks
ii. Subject Questions: 85 marks
Total: 100 marks

GATE 2025: Marking Scheme

Questions carry either one mark or two marks. For incorrect answers in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), negative marking will apply:

i. For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be deducted.
ii. For 2-mark MCQs, the 2/3 mark will be deducted.

There is no negative marking for Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. No partial marking is provided.

GATE 2025: Scorecard Availability

The GATE 2025 scorecard will be available for download from March 28 to May 31, following the announcement of results. Candidates are advised to keep a soft copy of the scorecard for admission and counselling purposes.
