Gaikwad's flying ban lifted by Air India
Air India has lifted the flying ban on Shiv Sena MP, Ravindra Gaikwad. He was taken off the no-fly list following a letter by the civil aviation ministry to Air India.
No apology, no flight: Air India again cancels Sena MP Gaikwad's tickets
The ministry officials who met on Thursday discussed the issue and decided to tell Air India to take Gaikwad off the no-fly list.
It may be recalled after a stormy parliament session over this issue, Gaikwad had written to the civil aviation ministry expressing regret over the incident.
In the letter, Gaikwad said that he regrets for the unfortunate incident that took place on March 23 2017 on the Air India Flight No AI-852 seat no 1F.
It could have been no one's intention to have let the situation aggravate to the level that it eventually did, he said. While the ongoing investigation investigation will bring out the factual sequence of events to fix responsibility, this incident may kindly be seen as a reason for likely recurrence of such events in future also.
As the restriction on flying is affecting the discharge of my duties and responsibilities, I would request you to lift this restriction and let the investigations eventually determine the circumstances that led to the incident, the MP also wrote.
