Fuel price hike an anniversary 'gift' by Modi govt: Cong
New Delhi, May 15: The hike in petrol and diesel prices was a "gift" by Narendra Modi government to the people on its first anniversary, Congress today said in caustic remarks, and claimed more of it will follow.
"It is a gift by the Modi government on the occasion of its first anniversary. More will follow," party spokesman R P N Singh said.

He was reacting to a hike of Rs 3.13 a litre on petrol and Rs 2.71 per litre on diesel from midnight tonight in the second straight steep increase in rates this month.
Modi-led BJP had come to power in May last year, becoming the first national party to secure a majority on its own after 30 years.
