Seven Held for Alleged Fraud in Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Exam
Seven individuals were detained across Bihar on Sunday due to alleged misconduct during the state police constable recruitment exam, according to an official statement. Among those arrested, four were candidates who have been charged accordingly. Additionally, cases were filed against eight other candidates for suspected fraudulent activities during the exam.

The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) is overseeing the recruitment process for the state police, special armed force, and other units. The exams commenced on August 7 and will continue until August 28, covering over 21,391 vacancies. The exams are scheduled to be held in a single shift on August 18, 21, 25, and 28.
Arrests and Discrepancies
Four candidates were apprehended at examination centres. Five others were dismissed from the centres due to discrepancies in their documents. The arrested candidates included two from Begusarai and one each from Kaimur and Gopalganj districts.
The police also detained three individuals from Sheikhpura district for alleged malpractices during the exam on Sunday. "The police also recovered three mobile phones and four ATM cards from their possession. They are being further examined by the police," stated the official release.
Exam Participation
Approximately 17.87 lakh candidates are expected to participate in the recruitment exam. On Sunday, around 65 per cent of registered candidates appeared for the test.
In addition to those arrested, five other candidates were asked to leave examination centres due to document discrepancies. The state police have registered cases against these individuals as well.
The exams are being conducted to fill vacancies in various units of the state police force. The CSBC has ensured that all necessary measures are in place to prevent any malpractice during the examination process.
The recruitment exams are crucial for filling positions in the state police and special armed force units. The authorities are vigilant in maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
The ongoing exams will continue as scheduled, with authorities closely monitoring for any irregularities. The state police remain committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process for all candidates involved.
The official statement highlighted that those involved in fraudulent activities would face strict legal action. This underscores the commitment of the authorities to uphold the sanctity of the recruitment process.
Ensuring a fair examination process is paramount for recruiting competent personnel into the state police force. The authorities' swift action against malpractices reflects their dedication to this goal.
The concluding phase of the exams will see heightened vigilance from authorities to prevent any further incidents of malpractice. Candidates are urged to adhere strictly to guidelines to avoid any legal consequences.
The CSBC's efforts in conducting these exams transparently aim to recruit deserving candidates based on merit. This initiative is vital for strengthening the state's law enforcement agencies with capable personnel.
