My privilege to work under PM Modi, says Mukul Roy
The TMC had accused him of hobnobbing with the BJP. Roy was once the second-in-command in the TMC after Chief Minister Banerjee.
Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mukul Roy formally joined BJP on Friday. Roy had resigned from the Rajya Sabha and quit the party in October.
After joining the BJP, Roy said, " Today I have joined BJP and it's my proud privilege to work under PM Modi."

Roy met BJP President Amit Shah, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and others.
Last month, he was suspended from the TMC for six years for indulging in "anti-party activities" after he had announced on September 25 that he would quit the party.
The TMC had accused him of hobnobbing with the BJP. Roy was once the second-in-command in the TMC after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Subsequently, Roy had described the BJP as a secular party and said the TMC would not have tasted success without the backing of the saffron outfit at the national level in its initial years.
Roy had denied reports of floating a new political party in the state.
He is joining the BJP ahead of by polls to two assembly seats in West Bengal that will be held in November.
