Anandiben Patel becomes the governor of Madhya Pradesh
Anandiben Patel on Friday was appointed as the governor of Madhya Pradesh.
She will replace Om Prakash Kohli who is the governor of Gujarat and currently holds the additional charge of the office of Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
Patel was the cabinet minister for education in the BJP-led government in Gujarat from 2002 to 2007.
In 2016, Patel resigned from the post of Gujarat's CM. It was speculated that her handling of the Patidar reservation agitation and Dalit protests in the state were the reasons behind her resignation.
