Corruption case: After wife and daughter, ex-bureaucrat Bansal and son commit suicide
In a shocking incident, former Director General Corporate Affairs BK Bansal and his son allegedly committed suicide at their residence in Delhi on Tuesday. The former bureaucrat was facing a CBI probe in connection with a corruption case.
In fact, just two months earlier, Bansal's wife and daughter committed suicide at their residence after he was arrested by the CBI in July for allegedly accepting a bribe from a prominent pharmaceutical company. The investigative agency raided eight locations in connection with the case and recovered unaccounted cash. However, Bansal was later released on bail in August.

In separate suicide notes left by Bansal's wife and daughter, they say the "CBI raid" had caused them "great humiliation" and they did not want to live after that, reports PTI.
"Keeping in view the factum of unfortunate happening in his family, where his wife and daughter committed suicide when he was in police custody, he himself is suffering from a medical condition, his only son is in depression, and the fact that Anjun Saxena is yet to be arrested... and particularly the peculiar circumstances of the case, I am of the opinion that the accused is entitled to bail," special CBI judge Gurdeep Singh had said while granting Bansal bail after the death of his wife and daughter.
