Former bureaucrat Burney dead

, Feb 8: S.M.H Burney, a former bureaucrat and former governor of

, has passed away, family sources said on Saturday.

Burney, who was the information and broadcasting ministry secretary during the Emergency, died at his home here on Friday night, the sources said.

He also served as chairman of the National Commission for Minorities.
