Former BSF commandant commits suicide     

Jammu, Dec 29: A former commandant of the Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly committed suicide today by shooting himself with a licensed gun in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Retd Commandant Jai Dev Singh (75) committed suicide by shooting himself with his double barrel licensed gun at his residence in Kathua district, a police officer said.

After getting the information, a police team rushed to the spot and was investigating the reason for which Singh took the extreme step, he said.

The body has been sent to the district hospital Kathua for postmortem, he said. A case has been registered at Kathua Police Station and investigations started, he said.
