Forceful conversion of religion is highly unjust: Aamir Khan on Love Jihad

aa
Bhopal, Oct 28: Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan on Sunday voiced his concern over the controversial issue of Love Jihad.

While attending the live screening of 'Mumkin Hai' programme in Bhopal, Aamir said the so-called 'love jihad' is similar to 'honour killings'.

Aamir said that in both cases (love jihad and honour killings), a person's right to choose his/her partner is taken away.

During a Press Conference, Aamir was quoted by TOI as saying, "I am a Muslim and both my former wife Reena and current spouse Kiran are Hindus. Also my sister is married to a Hindu. The children in our family learn about all religions. I don't believe in forceful conversions as everyone has a right to religion and right to life. For me, humanity is the supreme religion."

Earlier this month, another Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan had also expressed his opinion on Love jihad controversy.

Saif had penned down a column in Indian Express where he talked about his disbelief on 'Love Jihad'.

In the political circles, love jihad controversy had gained major attention of many politicians, with some condemning it and some gaining political mileage out of it.
