Footpath dweller arrested for murder
New Delhi, Sept 10: A footpath dweller has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a man whose body was found at Ashoka Road roundabout near Jantar Mantar recently, police said on Wednesday.
Accused Mohammad Munna was arrested by police in connection with the murder of Santosh, another footpath dweller.
Munna was arrested from the park of Windsor Place roundabout on yesterday, said Kumar Gyanesh, Additional DCP of New Delhi police.
The accused Munna and Santosh lived on footpath on Janpath. They had consumed liquor together on September 6 night and after a quarrel, Munna had murdered Santosh with a concrete block, he said.
A case of murder was registered in this connection at Parliament Street police station. Munna was earlier arrested and sent to jail in connection with a theft case, he added.
