Foggy conditions and reduced visibility caused significant delays for 14 trains across northern India on Saturday morning, as per railway authorities. The disruptions follow several days of weather-related challenges, including a cold wave and persistent fog, ANI reported.

Residents of Delhi woke up to overcast skies on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain and issued a yellow alert for the day amid ongoing cold wave conditions.

The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius, which is six degrees above the seasonal average. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 16 degrees Celsius. In the last 24 hours, the city received 42.1 mm of rainfall, the highest December rainfall recorded in 15 years.

While the rainfall caused disruptions, it brought some respite from pollution. Delhi's air quality index (AQI) improved from the 'very poor' to the 'moderate' category. At 9 am, the AQI stood at 152, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
