Make Your Trip Easy: Soon, book flight, rail tickets online through Flipkart
Bengaluru, July 15: Flipkart, one of the biggest online retailers of the country, is expected to spread its wing. According to media reports, soon people can book flight and rail tickets through Flipkart.
It has been claimed that Flipkart has been planning to launch an online ticketing platform and hence, discussions are going on among Flipkart and MakeMyTrip officials.

While Flipkart officials refused to make any comment officially, media reports quoted officials on the condition anonymity that the company is likely to launch the online ticketing platform by Sept 2015.
A source has been quoted as saying, "We are planning to integrate ticketing powered by MakeMyTrip on the Flipkart marketplace, which means that a customer will be able to book air and rail tickets from the Flipkart platform."
Mobile recharge, travel bookings and bill payments are among the most popular service segments on internet. Online retailers have been making money with the above mentioned three segments.
News about Flipkart's decision of launching ticketing platform came just months after Amazon and Snapdel's announcements of joining hands with IRCTC and FreeCharge respectively.
While Amazon in Mar 2015 announced a partnership with IRCTC to be the official shopping partner of Indian Railways' online ticketing platform for two years, Snapdeal in April 2015 bought online recharge platform FreeCharge.
It will help Snapdeal to offer pest control services, mobile and bill payments, and financial services such as home and personal loans.
