Five questions for Umar Khalid, student facing sedition charges in JNU incident
New Delhi, Feb 22: Even as the students at the JNU booked under sedition returned to the university last night, the Delhi police is keen on questioning Umar Khalid alleged to be the organiser of the Afzal Guru event on February 9.
The Delhi police which had issued a look out circular against Khalid and others say that he will have to answer a lot of questions relating to the incident.

We have prepared a questionnaire for him and there are several key questions that he will need to answer. Delhi police sources tell OneIndia that right from the funding of the event to the raising of anti-national slogans will be part of the questionnaire as this is what the probe is based on.
Questions for Umar Khalid:
The Delhi police wants to know at whose behest was the event at the JNU organised in which students were condemning the hanging of Afzal Guru who was convicted in the Parliament attack. Secondly they want to know if there was a connection between the event organised at the JNU and the one at the Press Club.

At the Delhi Press Club, a similar event was organised by S A R Geelani. The Delhi police wants to know if these were organised by the same group of people. Further the police also seeks to know if Khalid had brought in people from Kashmir for the event at the JNU.
There have been allegations that some Kashmiris who are not part of the JNU were present at the February 9th event.
The police also wants to know who had raised the anti India slogans at the event on the basis of which the sedition charges were filed.
Finally the cops are also seeking information about the person/organisation which funded the event at the JNU.
Delhi police officials say that these are key questions and the name of Khalid came up during the questioning of JNU student leader, Kanaihya Kumar.
The officials are also looking to arrest Khalid and four others in connection with this case. However they want the administration of the JNU to intervene in this matter. The police say that they would make the arrests today. On the other hand the students have said they will surrender if the police comes to the campus.
