Five Himachal youths hoist Tricolour on 11,500-ft peak
Shimla, Aug 17: Five spirited youths from Naina Tikker in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh exhibited rare sentiment of patriotism and hoisted the Tricolour on the 11,500 ft high Churdhar Peak, facing all odds and inclement weather.
Amrit Raj Chauhan, Yaman Chauhan, Raman Chauhan, Ayush and Prince had decided to celebrate Independence Day at Churdhar Mountain peak. They accomplished the mission amid singing of national anthem at the peak.

They started the journey on August 14 and returned to Nauradhar in the evening on the same day, Amritraj Chauhan said.
The last base camp is at Shrigul Devata temple and for completing the last journey, a distance of 800 metres, has to be trekked by climbing rocks and boulders on a treacherous and perilous track.
