First phase of Lucknow Metro to commence from September 5
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate Lucknow Metro services on September 5. And for the public, the services will be however operational from September 6.

The 8.5 km long 'Priority Corridor' from Transport Nagar to Charbagh will be made operational for the public from 6 am to 10 pm on a daily basis. This metro will be the first metro project to be made operational for the public in less than three years.
The presence of Rajnath SIngh will give prove that the Modi-led BJP government at the Centre which contributed bulk of the funds for the project while Akhilesh Yadav as CM has just showcased the Lucknow Metro as his signature project.
Earlier, the BJP had attacked the then Akhilesh government during th UP election campaign, asking as to why were the Metro trains still not running in Lucknow. However, for which Yadav had shot back saying the project was to still get the safety clearance from the Railway commissioner.
