Asian Buddhist Summit Set for November in Delhi

The summit's theme, "Role of Buddha Dhamma in Strengthening Asia," highlights its focus. The event will unite Sangha leaders, scholars, experts, and practitioners from diverse Buddhist traditions across Asia. This initiative seeks to foster dialogue, promote understanding, and address contemporary challenges faced by the Buddhist community.

Buddhism's Influence in Asia

Buddhism occupies a distinct place in India's spiritual and cultural history, as well as across Asia. The teachings of Buddha and his followers have united Asia with a shared perspective on life, divinity, and social values. These teachings continue to play a significant role in shaping cultural and spiritual connections throughout the region.

The Buddha Dhamma has become an integral part of India's culture. It has contributed to developing a consistent foreign policy and establishing effective diplomatic relationships. This influence underscores the importance of Buddhism in shaping India's international interactions.

India's Act East Policy

The summit also reflects India's Act East policy, which emphasises collective, inclusive, and spiritual development in Asia with Dhamma as its guiding principle. This policy aims to strengthen ties with Asian countries through shared cultural and spiritual values.

The gathering will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences among participants. It will provide an opportunity to explore how Buddhism can address current challenges while promoting peace and harmony across Asia.

By bringing together diverse voices from the Buddhist community, the summit aims to create a space for meaningful dialogue. Participants will discuss ways to apply Buddhist principles to contemporary issues, fostering greater understanding and cooperation among Asian nations.
