Firing On BJP Councillor Sheetal Chaudhary’s Car in Ghaziabad; Police Launch Probe

Tension gripped Ghaziabad on Wednesday night after BJP councillor Sheetal Chaudhary came under fire from unidentified assailants in Kamla Nehru Nagar, falling under the Kavinagar police station area.

The incident unfolded around 8:30 pm when Chaudhary was driving alone in her white Creta, heading from Govindpuram towards Sanjay Nagar. Midway through her route, two men on a motorcycle suddenly appeared, overtook her car, and opened fire. Two bullets pierced the windshield, narrowly missing the councillor.

The attackers, their faces hidden by helmets, sped away before anyone could react. Shocked but unhurt, Chaudhary immediately alerted the police.

Police Treating Case as Top Priority

Police teams rushed to the spot and began combing the area. A senior officer confirmed that the attack is being treated as a high-profile and targeted act of violence, given Chaudhary's position as an elected representative.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to residents who may have witnessed the shooting. Forensic experts have also examined the car for evidence.

While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, police sources said multiple teams are tracking possible escape routes used by the shooters.

As the investigation deepens, security around local political figures in the region is also being reviewed.
