Fire Incident at Delhi's Seemapuri Police Station Prompted Rapid Emergency Response
A fire erupted at the Seemapuri police station in Delhi on Sunday evening. Seven fire tenders were dispatched to control the situation, according to officials. Fortunately, no injuries were reported despite the fire spreading across three floors of the police building, a representative from the Delhi Fire Services confirmed.

The incident was first reported at 8:35 pm by a resident of Police Colony. The resident informed the duty officer about the fire in the southeast section of the Seemapuri police station building. The officer then notified the Station House Officer (SHO) and other police personnel, who quickly arrived at the scene to find flames engulfing three floors.
Firefighting Efforts and Damage Assessment
The fire department received an alert about a blaze at the malkhana, where seized items are stored, at 8:42 pm. Seven fire tenders were deployed to tackle the fire, which was successfully extinguished by around 9:40 pm. The control room and fire brigade were promptly informed, ensuring a swift response.
The fire caused damage to stairs and adjacent rooms containing case properties of the malkhana. A more detailed assessment of the damage will be conducted later, as stated by police officials. Despite the extent of the fire, quick action prevented any casualties or further escalation.
In a statement, Delhi Police detailed that upon receiving information about the fire, immediate measures were taken to manage the situation. The prompt arrival of firefighting units played a crucial role in containing the blaze and preventing injuries.
The incident highlights the importance of rapid response in emergency situations. The efficient coordination between residents, police officers, and firefighters ensured that the situation was brought under control swiftly and safely.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are likely to follow. Authorities will conduct a thorough analysis to understand how such incidents can be prevented in future.
