Fire engulfs Bhiwandi building, many feared trapped

Thane, April 12: A major fire broke out at a factory-cum-residential complex in Bhiwandi powerloom town of Thane district here on Tuesday, officials said.

According to Thane Police, several people are feared trapped and efforts are on to rescue them before the blaze spreads to the upper floors of the four-storied building.

The city fire brigade has sent six fire tenders, ambulances four water tankers to fight the conflagration which started around 7 a.m. in the building located in the Kazipura area of the town.
