FIR against yet to be released Hindi movie

New Delhi, Sept 16: Delhi Police have registered an FIR against a Hindi movie, which is yet to be officially released, based on a complaint alleging that certain scenes and dialogues in the movie are intended to outrage religious sentiments and modesty of women.

The case was registered yesterday at the Farsh Bazar police station in east Delhi, based on a complaint by a person, who claimed to be from a right wing group, said a police official today.

According to the complaint, the movie has scenes and dialogues that are malicious and intended to outrage religious sentiments. It said the movie also contains words and acts that outrage the modesty of women in general.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 298 (uttering words with deliberate intent to hurt the religious feelings of any person), 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC, the official added.
