Fined! for not wearing a helmet in a car?
Bengaluru, March 9: In a series of bizarre incidents, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has been fining the wrong people with the wrong charges. In a second such incident, spokesperson of the ministry of Defence, M.S Patil has been sent a notice to cough up Rs 100 for not wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle in MICO Layout.
The interesting bit is, neither does Patil ride a motorcycle, but also the car he owns has been grounded for a year. In a similar incident in February, BJP state media in-charge Prakash S received a notice by post for not wearing a helmet, even though he travels in his Toyota Innova car.

Additional Commissioner of Police M. A Saleem said that these could be technical glitches. "We send close to 10,000 notices each day. Everything is based on evidence. If it is a wrong challan, they can always come and clear it with us," he said.
